Astronautics to Provide Connectivity for Airbus Helicopters
U.S. company's Air Ground Communications System offers enhanced operational and safety benefits through real-time data access.

Astronautics Corporation of America (Hall 4 Stand F18) announced here at the Paris Air Show it will provide its newest connectivity platform, the Astronautics Air Ground Communications System (AGCS) to Airbus Helicopters. AGCS provides cyber security protection of critical avionics from non-authorized access; wireless access to operational and maintenance data in flight and on the ground; enables transmission and reception of data through a variety of communication channels; and can store and retrieve hundreds of hours of operational data within the system. The modular air-to-ground data transmission system consists of an airborne server, wireless communications module, remote media device, and ground server software. Certification is expected by the end of 2018.

“Helicopter operators will realize enhanced operational and safety benefits through real-time data access,” said Astronautics president Chad Cundiff. “Plus, the AGCS’s modular design and upgradability will ensure the system can rapidly evolve to provide operators the latest, sate-of-the-art digital innovation.”
