IT and business process services specialist CGI (Hall 3 Stand A10) has been awarded a UK MoD contract to develop a transformation roadmap for the UK Space Operations Centre (SpOC) at RAF High Wycombe. As well as identifying the roles and responsibilities of future space analysts, CGI will draw up a roadmap for technical transformation to enhance capabilities and to produce a secure, agile and cost-efficient system.

Data fusion and real-time data analysis will form a significant part of this effort. Improving the capabilities that provide space situational awareness is becoming increasingly important as space becomes more congested through the launch of new satellites and a growing amount of debris. This situation brings with it growing threats to the ability to maintain and implement strategic space activities.
