Latitude Technologies announced a four-year contract from the USDA Forest Service for its Operation Load Monitoring Systems (OLMS) for use on government and contractor-owned aircraft engaged in aerial wildfire fighting operations. Government aircraft used in these operations include the Cessna TU-206, Raytheon King Air 90, de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, Shorts 330 and Douglas DC-3 turboprop.
The OLMSs can track up to 56 continuous analog parameters, including acceleration and strain, as well as fuel, engine, spatial parameters of control surfaces and retardant quantity. Latitude is based in Victoria, British Columbia.
