Eurocontrol To Hold Conference on Aircraft Automation Safety
Forum organizers are seeking to attract global participation from all aviation sectors, especially from front-line personnel.

Eurocontrol, working together with the Flight Safety Foundation and the European Regional Airline Association, will host an operational safety forum, Safety and Automation in Aviation, on June 2 and 3 at Eurocontrol headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Forum organizers are seeking to attract global participation from all aviation sectors, especially from front-line personnel often unable to attend traditionally longer safety conferences, and expects to create a consensus and proposed recommendation report focused around automation issues.

Specifically, the conference will review the current state of aircraft automation, as well as the technologyā€™s safety benefits and challenges. The event will also share best practices from aircraft operators and air-navigation service providers and explore new and potential developments in automation. Conference organizers are also seeking papers related to these topics, along with a 500-word topic abstract and the authorā€™s credentials, by February 19. Papers selected will be delivered in short 20-minute sessions.
