Component repair services provider Able Aerospace Services of Phoenix, Arizona (Booth No. 2106) is here at Heli-Expo 2012 celebrating the recent groundbreaking of its new headquarters at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. With a 191,000-square-foot complex including offices and a purpose-built hangar, Able will become the airport’s largest tenant among a roster that includes Boeing, Cessna, Embraer and Hawker Beechcraft.
Able specializes in component repair and overhaul, and maintains a large inventory of OEM and approved PMA replacement parts. Despite the downturn in the aerospace market, the company has reported nine consecutive years of 20 percent compound growth, and projects a 27 percent increase in 2012.
“This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our company’s growth,” said Able president and CEO Lee Benson. “The aerospace industry needs good news stories, and our story is about as good as they come.”
The company said it chose Mesa for its new headquarters because the quality of the local workforce and the favorable agreements negotiated with the city and the airport. Said Mesa Mayor Scott Smith, “[Able] will bring hundreds of high-tech jobs into an area that is becoming well known for aerospace research, design and defense.”
