Korea Aerospace Industries (Stand T98) aims to raise its exposure to the civil side of the aerospace business from its current 35 percent to at least 50 percent over the next 10 years, according to the company’s executive vice president and general manager for marketing Enes Park. Now a Tier 1 supplier for the Airbus A350XWB and a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier on the Boeing 787, the company has identified an opportunity in the civil aircraft market segment below 100 seats, as well as in the business jet realm.
Park wouldn’t name any of the OEMs with which his company hopes to enter into partnerships, but he said he sees a niche the company can exploit, particularly in the area of component integration. “We’re just thinking about it,” Park told AIN. “But there’s been a lot of discussion.”
