For those who just don’t want the airshow ever to end, there is the official Farnborough 2008 DVD, which is being filmed here all week by LifeTV Media. With multiple camera angles (including in-cockpit cameras), the DVD offers comprehensive coverage of the daily flying displays as well as special features on topics such as the Centenary of British Flight and interviews with pilots.
This year marks both the 60th anniversary of the Farnborough airshow and the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight in the UK (made here in 1908 by Samuel Cody). Beginning on Friday, the flying display will feature an impressive array of historic aircraft, including the Vickers Vimy, the Spitfire, the Vulcan, the Swordfish and the Catalina.
LifeTV Media has been filming airshows for 20 years, and produces numerous aviation-related films for TV outlets such as the Discovery Channel. It started producing an official DVD for Farnborough International in 2006.
The UK-based company is also an official partner of AIN and it will be providing exclusive film of the flying displays for our daily AINtv Web casts at www.aintv.com.
The official Farnborough 2008 DVD, which will run approximately 80 minutes, is available for £14.99 through the airshow Web site at www.farnborough.com.
