A new office has been launched by the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) to help represent and support the 140 companies and 30,000 employees in the aerospace and defense industries in Scotland. Until SBAC Scotland was formed, the country was the only part of the UK that did not have a representative body covering these industries.

Ian Watson is the first director of SBAC Scotland, bringing experience and knowledge of the global aerospace and defense markets, which will be a major benefit to companies wanting to expand their horizons.  Commenting on his appointment, Watson declared: “Scottish Enterprise and its Aerospace Industry Group have worked extremely hard and actively supported SBAC’s efforts to establish this new operation and I will be working closely with them in the months and years ahead.”
