The Australian Transport Safety Bureau voiced concern last week that a 12-percent cut in staffing forced on it by budget shortfalls will seriously undermine its capacity. The bureau said the cuts will make it unable to conduct as many investigations as it is asked to perform “for the foreseeable future.”
