West Star Aviation recently expanded the capabilities at its Embraer authorized service center in Grand Junction, Colo., adding Embraer Legacy 600/650 line maintenance capabilities. The company already services the Phenom 100 and 300. West Star GJT has been an Embraer-authorized service center since July 2011.
Joe Carr, turboprop & light jet program manager, told AIN, “The certification didn’t require any facility changes. Embraer came to Grand Junction to check out our capability and was happy with our existing facility. Overall, it was about a $75,000 investment in tooling in addition to sending two of our experienced technicians to FlightSafety for their three-week maintenance course.”
The next step in West Star Aviation’s planned expansion will be authorization to complete aircraft inspections up to 24 months.
West Star Aviation offers repair and maintenance of airframes, windows and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.
