Global trip support provider Evo Jet has signed a hotel service agreement with Bigfly Travel Group’s crew concierge system here at the NBAA show. Bigfly Travel focuses purely on supporting corporate flight departments, charter operators and FBOs with hotel reservations.
Due to its status as a travel agency Bigfly is paid by the hotels and has relationships with all the major chains, and the new agreement will give Evo cancellation flexibility for last-minute crew reservation changes with no booking or change fees. “The global agreement gives all Evo Jet client flight crews unlimited support and discounted crew rates at most hotels worldwide,” said Evo director Chris Cartwright.
Evo Jet has offices in Hong Kong, San Francisco, Prague and the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Cartwright told AIN that his local team expects the situation in western Ukraine to remain stable in the wake of continued military combat in the east of the country. “Kiev has suffered a slowdown in business aircraft traffic, but the regular business jets continue to fly in and out of Ukraine, mainly from Europe,” he said. “To the east however, Donetsk Airport has been destroyed during the recent battle between Russian separatists and Ukrainian troops. At one time, we had quite a lot of business jet traffic going into industrial areas.”
Evo’s deputy manager in Kiev, Alex Pych, said that there are no restrictions on Kiev’s airports and fuel is available. “It is actually calmer than last February when we had violent protests on the main square of Kiev,” he commented.
