Phoenix-based Honeywell Aerospace (Booth 2000) has introduced two new apps to support its avionics equipment for both pilots and maintainers.
Developed with input from its global customer committee, Pilot Gateway is a new website and mobile application that provides flight crew with access to training materials, manuals, videos and other resources for the Honeywell equipment on their particular aircraft type. The free app works on iOS and Android devices, and allows flight crew to submit questions to the flight technical services team and aerospace technical support.
For maintenance technicians Honeywell is also introducing My-Maintainer, which streamlines the ability to perform fault analysis by connecting wirelessly to data stored on the aircraft, transmitted by the Honeywell data LAN management unit-wireless (DLMU-w) system. Available from early next year, My-Maintainer will support all Primus Epic-based avionics platforms.
As well as the new releases, Honeywell has improved the MyGDC global data center app by optimizing it for iOS 8 and adding features such as a 3-D mapping engine, integration of U.S. digital IFR en route charts and VFR sectional map layers and graphical representations of Sigmet weather advisories, special-use airspace and temporary flight restrictions. The Direct Access app has also been improved to give enhanced access to Honeywell customer support.
