In response to a request from ARSA and the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC), the FAA has extended the comment period on draft Advisory Circular (AC) 65-30B, entitled “Overview of the Aviation Maintenance Profession,” by 90 days to December 10. In their August 26 letter to FAA Administrator Michael Huerta, ARSA and ATEC asked for a 120-day extension: “Given that this AC has not been updated in 13 years…it is critical that additional time be provided for thorough AC review and comment development.” Both organizations are collecting information from members to provide feedback and recommendations to ensure the AC “accounts for both current and future industry requirements.” Individual comments can also be emailed to the FAA.
