Shell Aviation Notes Aerobatic Team Anniversary, Reveals New Packaging for Products
The company-sponsored AeroShell team is celebrating its third decade in operation.

At this year’s EAA AirVenture, Shell Aviation is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the AeroShell Aerobatic team, with the opportunity to meet the team members every day at the company’s booth (Hangar C, Booth No. 3072) between 11 a.m. and noon for autographs to collect the free annual AeroShell Oshkosh poster and relax in the shaded AeroShell park. The company is running a contest for one lucky winner to fly with the Shell-sponsored team, with that winner to be announced on the main stage at Boeing Plaza on Thursday night, before the concert by Boogie and the Yo-Yoz.

This morning, the company awarded the Shell Aviation/Able Flight scholarship in honor of AeroShell Aerobatic Team founding member Alan Henley. It was the first such scholarship to be awarded since the company announced its commitment to Able Flight, which provides aviation career training scholarships to people with physical disabilities.

On Thursday at 10 a.m., Robert Midgley, the company’s global technical and quality manager for Shell Aviation Fuels, will give a presentation in Forum Plaza on the company’s decade-long efforts in developing unleaded avgas.

Shell also announced that it will launch a global package redesign for its piston-engine oil product line, which will include new distinctive labels and bottles that are available for purchase at the company’s booth.
