Merex Acquires Manufacturing Tooling for F-5, T-38, F-16 Spare Parts
Sierra Aerospace of Simi Valley, California, sold the surplus equipment to Merex.

Camarillo, California-based Merex Group (here with subsidiary Kellstrom Defense in Hall 3 Stand D12) has announced the acquisition of specialized tooling and inventory to manufacture spares for the F-5, T-38 and F-16 fighters. This gives Merex the capability to produce the wing leading and trailing edge, vertical stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer as replacement parts. Sierra Aerospace of Simi Valley, California, sold the surplus equipment. The Merex Group will make additional investments in 3D computer aided design to improve the dimensional accuracy and quality of the final product.

Meanwhile, Alco Services, a Merex Company, has reached an agreement with UK-based Avloc to represent Alco for several repair services. These include auxiliary power units and various accessories for the Lockheed C-130 and P-3 fleets of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces.

In addition, yesterday here at the show Ametek (Hall 1 Stand B24) announced that Merex subsidiary Kellstrom had been appointed as exclusive spare parts distribution partner for the Wilmington, Massachussetts company’s Sensors and Fluid Management Systems division.
