FSF Calls for Aircraft Monitoring Meeting
Malaysian disappearance spurs talk about better flight tracking.

With the Malaysian airliner disappearance still unsolved, the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) has called for an international symposium on the current state of technology and the need to incorporate aircraft monitoring and communications systems to enhance location tracking. David McMillan, chairman of the FSF board of governors, said, “We know that emerging technology exists to provide much more real-time data about aircraft operations and engine performance.” ICAO’s special meeting on aircraft tracking convenes May 12 and 13 in Montreal.
