FlightSafety International technician training programs for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines have been moved from Beijing to Haikou, and will be provided at the new location by FlightSafety-trained instructors working for Lufthansa HNA Technical Training. FlightSafety is also providing all courseware and training engines for the program, which initially includes theory and practical training on the PT6A and PW100 series engines.

A joint venture between Lufthansa Technical Training and Hainan Airlines’ independent MRO operation HNA Technik, Lufthansa HNA Technical Training opened in 2007 and provides basic, type and component training that meet CAAC requirements as well as standards set by worldwide regulatory agencies, including Australia’s CASA, Europe’s EASA, the U.S.FAA, and Transport Canada.

“FlightSafety is pleased to enhance the training it provides for maintenance technicians who support aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada engines based in China and the surrounding region,” said Mike Lee, director maintenance training, business development. “Our cooperative agreement with Lufthansa HNA Technical Training, and the relocation of the program from Beijing to Haikou, will further increase the quality and effectiveness of the courses.”
