SRT Wraps Up Great Slaves Helicopters Peruvian Ops Training

SRT Helicopters (Booth No. 108) recently completed a specialized training contract with Canadian operator Great Slave Helicopters, allowing the Northern Territories operator to conduct hoist and human external load (Class D) operations in Peru.

“We were very impressed with how quickly we were able to put the schedule together, and with SRT’s help in ensuring that we had the right equipment and the right mix of pilots and hoist operators,” Great Slave general manager Corey Taylor said.

SRT Helicopters division Specialized Response and Training (SRT) provided the training program and certification support. The nature of Great Slave’s operations in the South American locale presented some challenges to the company’s typical training process.

“We generally send an advance team to international sites to assess the client’s needs,” said SRT operations director Christian Gadbois. “But, because of Great Slave’s scheduling constraints, this time we had to rapidly assess all equipment, personnel qualifications and regulatory requirements prior to arrival in country.”
