Helinet Technologies (Booth No. 1508) announced during Heli-Expo 2014 that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) recently selected the company to develop and support an upgraded, multiband microwave downlink transmission system for the LAPD’s Air Support Division. Helinet also developed the department’s existing downlink system, which allows air crews to transmit live HD video and data to ground personnel and command sites. The new capability will allow the LAPD to receive interference-free streaming of live aerial images from police, public safety and broadcast television stations throughout the Los Angeles metroplex.
