China’s Metrojet has signed a partnership agreement with The Leather Institute of Red Bank, New Jersey. Under the agreement The Leather Institute will provide its aircraft interior care and leather component refinishing services at Metrojet’s facilities. With The Leather Institute on board Metrojet will be the first Asia-based business aircraft maintenance company able to offer interior care services at Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau airports in China, and in India and the Philippines.
Metrojet’s operations at Zhuhai have been made possible through the establishment of a new MRO facility in a joint venture with Zhuhai Hanxing General Aviation Company. It has over 15,000 sq ft of hangar space plus workshops and storage. Other facilities to open recently under the Metrojet label are a maintenance operation within the Clark Freeport Zone in the Philippines and the joint venture TajAir Metrojet Aviation maintenance center at Mumbai in India.
