Airbus has awarded Lufthansa Technik (Booth No. 2529) a completion contract for three additional ACJ318 aircraft and bestowed its “Best VIP cabin outfitter of the year 2012” prize on the company.

Airbus and Lufthansa Technik have partnered on the ACJ318 program since 2006 with the latter already completing 17 of the aircraft at its facilities in Hamburg and Tulsa. Three more will arrive next year and two additional in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In 2009 all ACJ318 completion was transferred to Lufthansa’s Bizjet International subsidiary in Tulsa.

Customers can order the ACJ318 with a choice of standardized cabin layouts that cut completion times and costs. However, they still have a wide selection of finishes and materials.

Lufthansa received the Airbus cabin outfitter award earlier this year at the latter’s VIP operator forum in Prague. Airbus (Booth No. 2128) said the award was made after considering factors including quality, schedule compliance and technical planning.
