Investigators Look into GIV Landing Overrun Crash

The search for answers continues into what caused the mid-afternoon landing overrun accident of a Gulfstream GIV at Le Castellet Airport (LFMQ), in France, on July 13.

The three occupants of the Universal Jet Aviation aircraft, all U.S. citizens, were killed when the aircraft left the runway, broke into at least two main pieces and exploded in a wooded area near the airport.

The Gulfstream had just arrived after a Part 91 repositioning flight from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (LFMN) when the accident occurred. A photo from the crash scene indicates the thrust reversers were still deployed when the aircraft came to rest.
