CFM Scores Leap Engine Orders Bonanza At Farnborough

CFM International is set to head home from the Farnborough International airshow with some $12.6 billion in new engine sales—nearly doubling its 2012 order book. One dozen different clients—a mix of airlines and leasing groups---signed for nearly 1,000 of the new Leap family engines. These include the following: Agriculture Bank of China (engines for 45 Comac C919 aircraft), Air Lease Corporation (75 Boeing 737 MAXs), Aviation Capital Group (18 Airbus A320neos), Avolon Leasing (15 737 MAXs), GE Capital Aviation Services (75 MAXs and 75 737s), United Airlines (100 MAXs and 50 737s), Virgin Australia (23 MAXs) and Juneyao Airlines (5 A321s).
