FAA Responds to Cargo Pilots' Questions
IPA Asks for FAR Clarifications

In a document published in the Federal Register last week, the FAA provided its proposed legal interpretation to questions posed by the Independent Pilots Association (IPA). Representing United Parcel Service (UPS) crews, IPA had requested an interpretation regarding the consequences of deadhead transportation in connection with flight-time limitations.

IPA also asked the agency to clarify conditions for admitting additional personnel to an aircraft flight deck, which are currently explained in 14 CFR 121.547 and the UPS Flight Operations Manual.  The FAA will accept comments up to July 31, 2012.
