European industry experts have drawn a line in the sand well ahead of an EU proposal to lift the ban on carrying liquids aboard a commercial aircraft that is set to take effect in April 2013.
The British Airport Operators Association claims that technology has not sufficiently evolved to guarantee passenger safety when liquids are involved. The ban was imposed in 2006 after an attempt to blow up a series of airliners that had departed London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
