Scott’s-Bell 47 (Booth No. 5309) will launch a Model 47 upgrade program here at Heli-Expo and is also developing composite replacement main rotor blades with IAC Ltd.
The upgrade gives customers the choice of having their existing Model 47 refurbished or purchasing a completed refurbished/upgraded 47G-2A (narrow body) or 47G-2A-1 directly from Scott’s.
The program covers all Lycoming-powered 47G helicopters. Included are new main rotor blades as well as a new instrument panel, new interior and Texas Helicopter STCs, such as No-Bar, Sprag, and Muffler.
Customers can choose an overhaul of the airframe and systems as well as engine and drive train components, as well as installation of zero-time life limited components.
“The refurbished 47G-2A & 47G-2A-1 will be as close to a new Model 47 as you can get without a new engine or transmission,” said SB47 general manager Neil Marshall. Scott’s expects to begin delivering upgraded customer aircraft in Q4 2012 and refurbished aircraft to new customers in Q1 2013. The company is taking orders here at Heli-Expo.
Scott Churchill formed Scott’s-Bell 47 after acquiring the type certificate from Bell in 2010.
The company is based in Le Sueur, Minn.
