The SkyPad app from Innotech Aviation and Esoteric, which allows users of Innotech’s I-Ku broadband system to use their own personal iPads as an entertainment system controller, is now available for free from the Apple App Store.
“Previously, custom-configured iPads with the SkyPad system installed were required,” according to Rob Brooks, Innotech managing director. “Now, all the user needs to do is download the SkyPad app into his personal iPad to enjoy the same control and content.”
SkyPad, from Esoteric of Lake Forest, Calif., was designed from scratch and combines the most recent audio/video compression and distribution technology with cloud computing, and provides a complete system for content loading, management and playback. The SkyPad system can be installed as a stand-alone media system on any aircraft, or integrated with any current high-speed satellite system and wireless router.
Innotech, part of the Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group in Montreal, provides, among other services, interior completion of green aircraft, as well as interior refurbishment, exterior paint, repair and overhaul.
