Airbus has appointed Comlux America of Indianapolis an approved cabin outfitter. Customers have the option of working directly with Comlux and managing the cabin completion themselves or Airbus will help customers draw a cabin specification that they can then use to get a bid.
“Customers can also mandate us to manage the cabin outfitting at an Airbus-approved cabin outfitter on their behalf,” a spokesman for Airbus told AIN. He added, “Customers are free to choose the cabin outfitter of their choice but we encourage them to use an Airbus-approved cabin-outfitter because we want clients to be happy with both the aircraft and the cabin.”
Comlux America’s first VIP cabin is in an Airbus A320 Prestige. According to a Comlux spokesman, the interior was designed by Comlux Creatives and has a main room with a VIP lounge.
“The lounge contains an L-shaped divan, two club seats and a large dining table for six guests,” he said. “In the middle of the cabin a private compartment offers either a cozy lounge for the day or a large double bed for the night. A dedicated bathroom with shower completes the private lounge.”
