AeroMech has launched AMI Aviation Services in a bid to integrate its global engineering and FAA STC ODA certification services with fabrication and repair station capabilities., โWith the addition of AMI Aviation,โ said v-p of business development Dave Doucette, โwe can now offer our engineering and certification services together with avionics installations, modifications, harness fabrication and PMA in one location or even remotely anywhere in the world.โ
AeroMech built AMI Aviation Services from the ground up. โWe looked at various locations and determined there were personnel and opportunities in San Diego and Sanford, Fla. that suited our needs. Both locations had lease space available, with San Diego positioned to cover the West Coast and Asia/Pacific while Sanford covers the East Coast and South America,โ Doucette told AIN.
According to Doucette, the Sanford FAA certified repair station, located on Orlando Sanford International Airport, is also an FAA-approved PMA facility. The San Diego operation is located on Gillespie Field and has repair station operating specifications that allow for installation and repair of avionics systems in any make or model of fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft with no geographic limitation.
