TrueNorth Avionics emerged from 2010 with sales double those of 2009 and expectations of continued growth this year.
The Ottawa-based telecom solutions provider credited its Simphone; OpenCabin cabin communication system, introduced in late 2009, for many of the sales. TrueNorth describes Simphone; as βan enterprise-level cabin system that features all-digital hardware, an unlimited service life, a suite of upgradeable user-specified apps that add unprecedented capability and the ability to save up to 70 percent on service costs.β
Last year the system was selected by Airbus Corporate Jet Centre as the standard option for Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) cabin completions; picked by L-3 Communications for integration in its high-performance cabin solutions; and chosen by Canadian independent completion and refurbishment center Flying Colours for its Challenger 850 completion program.
TrueNorth also said that in 2010 its Simphone; OpenCabin system demonstrated a mean time between failure rate of 50,000 hours, across some 1,200 products over the course of more than one million flight hours.
