Absolute Fire Solutions (AFS) is introducing expanded versions of its FastTrack event-logging hardware platform and its PCTrac software at Heli-Expo 2010.
Originally developed to log heli-bucketing data, FastTrack has been expanded to include the capability to log and communicate belly tank data and fixed-wing tanker data, as well as drip-torch and health and usage monitoring (HUMS) data. The upgrade is being showcased at the company’s static display site (No. 19). The company is also demonstrating its Fast Bucket water drop.
The FastTrack system allows operators either to store and download data or integrate data collection with near real-time communications using an existing satcom system.
Data from systems such as water buckets, belly tanks and other installed utility systems is collected by the FastTrack system and is transmitted to the automatic flight following data center via the Iridium satellite network.
“We wanted every operator to be able to control data costs and match the costs of data transfer to the requirements of his fire agency or client, but without the costly retrofits to reach the new standards that will be required,” said AFS president Steve Matthews.
