Heli-Lynx of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, will unveil the newest variant of its FX series of modified, single-engine helicopters at 3 p.m.

Heli-Lynx of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, will unveil the newest variant of its FX series of modified, single-engine helicopters at 3 p.m. today at Booth No. 3745.

The company’s FX-series helicopters are modified Eurocopter AS350 AStars and AS355 TwinStars–the Heli-Lynx 350FX and 355FX, respectively–and incorporate numerous STCs developed by the company. These include new electrical systems, exhaust-nozzle vent, digital engine instrumentation and instrument lighting, tail-boom strake, increased-chord tail rotor and accumulator, and engine-control cables.

“We expect to accelerate our market penetration with the introduction of this new variant,” said Heli-Lynx president and CEO Mike Whittier. “Our customers have requested this new product and we have had excellent response from operators around the world.”

Said COO and chief test pilot Gerard Palmer, “Our technical and engineering team has worked very hard to bring this new project to our product line in time for Heli-Expo.”

The company is also introducing an enhanced Web site feature, the H.E.L.I. (Heli-Lynx Electronic Literature on the Internet) link at Heli-Expo. The link will give
customers access to instructions for continued airworthiness, installation manuals, flight-manual supplements and all supporting documentation from the company’s quality department.

“With this new system in place, even the most remote operator can have access to all our manuals at any time,” said quality manager Pat Smith. “This will improve the process of our engineering group to have documents prepared and released through our quality assurance department much faster and be more readily available for our customers.”
