The application by the Burbank Glendale Pasadena Airport Authority (BGPAA) to establish a nighttime noise curfew for Stage 3 aircraft at Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Southern California is complete, the FAA said. This means that the clock has started ticking on the agency’s 180-day review period and that the FAA will approve or deny the proposed mandatory noise curfew on or before November 1. To approve the BGPAA application the FAA must determine that the curfew is reasonable, nonarbitrary and nondiscriminatory; does not create an undue burden on interstate or foreign commerce; maintains safe and efficient use of the navigable airspace; and does not create an undue burden on the national aviation system.
