Nicholas Chabraja of General Dynamics and Robert Stevens of Lockheed Martin have been named to worldwide intelligence-based advisory firm Brendan Wood International’s global list of “TopGun” CEOs. The firm monitors the confidence levels of investors and their advisors in the CEOs of the world’s largest and most transactionally active companies, and ranks them based on several categories, including the CEOs’ positioning and strategy for the corporation.
Don Campion, president of Banyan Air Service and a former NATA board member, has been chosen as this year’s inductee for the Florida Aviation Trades Association Entrepreneurial Excellence Hall of Fame, based on his contributions to the business aviation industry in the state.
The National Air Transportation Association presented its annual awards at its summit last month. Richard Van Gemert, senior v-p of Jet Aviation, received the William A. Ong Memorial Award for his “extraordinary achievement and extended meritorious service to the general aviation industry,” while James Ballough, retired director of the FAA’s Flight Standards Service, received the 2008 NATA Distinguished Service Award. Other award winners included: excellence in pilot training, Williams Griggs Sr., Aviation Facilities; ATP/NATA general aviation service technician, Jimmy Ray, Million Air Salt Lake City; airport executive partnership award, Gary Schmidt, Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission; FAA customer service excellence award, Dupage, Ill., FSDO; and the aviation journalism award was presented to Bill Garvey, editor-in-chief of Business & Commercial Aviation.
