Highland Integrated Surveillance Systems (HISS) of Toronto, Canada, has awarded a contract to Barco to supply MDU-268 avionics-grade mission display units for installation in 30 helicopters for a Middle East customer. The displays will be integrated with EuroAvionics’ RN6 digital map generator to create an advanced mission display system.

The Barco MDU-268 was derived from the proven CHDD-2000 family, and is easily integrated with a variety of systems. The six- by eight-inch AMLCD screen provides high-quality displays of sensor imagery, moving map and other data, and is easily controlled through programmable keys on the bezel. It is readable in strong sunlight and has a wide viewing angle of 80 degrees. Input can be made digitally or by any of a number of analog protocols.
