Eurocopter (Booth No. 2754) has endorsed Canadian Helicopters Ltd.’s mountain flight training program with a memorandum of understanding. “This endorsement is a significant step and part of the Eurocopter strategy to further develop advanced helicopter mountain training for pilots in Canada and around the world,” said Lutz Bertling, president and CEO of Eurocopter Group. CHL training capabilities were audited and approved by Didier Delsalle, a Eurocopter test pilot who received worldwide recognition in 2005 when he landed an AS 350 B3 on the summit of Mount Everest.
Initial training at Canadian Helicopters (Booth No. 2840) will be done in an EC 120B at CHL’s school of advanced flight training in Penticton, B.C. “The approach taken by CHL ensures that pilots are trained to understand the specifics of mountain flying with regard to weather, wind and geography,” said Delsalle.
