California firm Vishay Intertechnology (Booth No. 1914) has introduced a wireless aircraft-weighing system that can be used for monitoring center of gravity, performing weight checks after an airframe repair and providing weight calculations for the purpose of design-proving.

The Vishay Revere JetWeigh-W weighing system provides digital weight readouts from 15,000 to 600,000 pounds with an accuracy of 0.1 percent of applied load or 0.02 percent of channel capacity, whichever is greater, the company said. Its wireless communication is effective for more than 220 feet.

Vishay has placed a number of functions on the system’s handheld PC, all of them readable on its color touch-screen interface. The handheld unit also includes a library of up to 200 aircraft types and characteristics.
