Panalpina is showing a video at its Heli-Expo booth (No. 1530) this week to explain how it moves helicopters by air and sea. Based in Richmond, British Columbia, Panalpina is a specialist in long-haul shipping of new and used helicopters.
Since the last Heli-Expo, Panalpina freight projects have included new deliveries of the Sikorsky S-92 and S-76, AgustaWestland AW139, Bell 407 and 206B3 and Eurocopter AS 365N3. Panalpina has also collected and delivered five models of Eurocopters from plants in Donauwoerth, Germany, and Marignane, France, for air freight to the Eurocopter completion facilities in Memphis and Dallas.
Panalpina’s slideshow and exhibit also describe its experience with dismantling of larger rotorcraft such as the S-92 for roll-on/roll-off shipment by sea and by air freight on an Antonov An-124, which is based at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.
