Wilson, Ore.-based FLIR Systems bills its EVS3 as a “compact thermal imager built for
the general aviation industry.” A company representative said the system will sell for “under $15,000,” and added, “It uses a high-resolution infrared detector to create real-time imagery with increased image uniformity and clarity.”
System benefits, according to the company, include reduced risk of CFIT (controlled flight into terrain); improved detection of power lines, trees and other obstacles; better visibility in brown-out conditions and improved visibility
in haze and rain.
The EVS3 system can be viewed in operation at Booth No. 4613 on the exhibit hall floor.
