Decatur, Texas-based United Rotorcraft Solutions (URS) has delivered the first of two Bell 407s customized for aeromedical operations to Halo-Flight of Corpus Christi, Texas. Exhibiting at Booth No. 1337, URS is highlighting its completions and refurbishment services, which also include maintenance and overhaul. Halo-Flight accepted its first URS-completed 407 on December 19. The second is due to be delivered in September and will bring the Halo-Flight fleet to three, all of them Bell 407s.
Both of the URS-completed helicopters feature a comprehensive avionics and communications suite that includes Chelton synthetic-vision EFIS, satellite datalink weather receiver and an Avidyne TAS 610 traffic advisory system.
The helicopters also boast Garmin radios and transponder, plus Technisonic’s VHF/800-MHz radio.
URS also installed a SkyConnect Iridium-based Tracker with 11-channel dialer for flight following and phone calling. It also modified the interior lighting for NVG compatibility while installing Paravion air conditioning, bleed-air heater/defroster, a Super Night Scanner and AFS engine inlet barrier filter.
