Ronald Zilberbrand resigned from Chicago-based JSSI International, the company that he co-founded. He was president of the company and executive v-p of 154 West Holdings, a holding company with direct ownership of JSSI. He has resigned to pursue other interests. JSSI CEO Rick Haskins is assuming the role of JSSI International president until a successor is named.
Jeppesen promoted Sandy Stedman to flight safety officer and v-p of quality standards and industry relations.
Richard Steele has joined Signature Flight Support as operations manager for the company’s Anchorage, Alaska base. He recently retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he held the rank of chief master sergeant.
Lee Iacocca, former chairman of Chrysler, joined corporate aircraft block-charter program SmartJets as chairman of the advisory board. He is assisting in directing management, and serving as a spokesperson in ad campaigns.
Raymond Hauck, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, joined Timco Aviation Services in Greensboro, N.C., as senior v-p for military business. He has served as president of Penco Aeroplex in Birmingham, Ala., since 1998.
Chicago-based RBS Lombard, the North American asset finance arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland, has appointed Beth Guido as senior v-p of corporate aircraft.
NetJets announced changes to its flight operations organization. Flight operations is now led by Dave MacGhee, who has joined the company as senior v-p of flight operations. MacGhee is a retired U.S. Air Force general. Gary Hart was named v-p of flight operations/director of operations. Hart was a key contributor to the FAA-sponsored rule- making committee that drafted the new FAR Part 91 Subpart K.
Stevens Aviation has announced three promotions in its management team. Don Doty was named general manager of the Donaldson Center facility in Greenville, S.C. He was most recently general manager of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport facility. Hiott Daves was promoted to director of military operations. He was director of maintenance. Mike Fitzgerald was promoted to director of maintenance from manager of engine services.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Unison Industries promoted Ken Jacobs to service center manager. He was the service center team leader. Also at Unison, Paul Theofan was named v-p of marketing and sales.
Gene Kraay is the new v-p of sales and marketing at Chesterfield, Mo.-based Thunder Aviation. He was most recently president and CEO of Pueblo Airmotive, a helicopter engine repair and maintenance facility in Tucson, Ariz. Also
at Thunder Aviation, Orville “Bud” Scott joined the company as director of engineering. For the past three years, Scott owned HTA Consultants, which provided avionics support for corporate aircraft.
FlightSafety International named Geoff Bloss as its director of business application development. He was previously a consultant with Verizon’s eCommerce and Call Management Systems.
Andrew Schweickert joined the staff of NBAA as manager of exhibits and static displays for the association’s domestic and international conventions, seminars and business aviation regional forums. Schweickert joined the association from Brailsford & Dunlavey, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm.
Washington, D.C.-based CSSI announced the appointment of Tom Styc as director of program engineering and management services. He is overseeing the company’s oceanic, R&D and Air Traffic Organization projects with the FAA and is assisting the company in marketing its technical capabilities.
Conklin & de Decker founder Alan Conklin retired from the company on June 30. Upon his retirement he became president emeritus and will work on special projects and serve in an advisory role. Alan, 84, and his wife, Martha Conklin, founded Al Conklin and Associates in 1984. After partnering with Bill de Decker, the company’s name was changed to Conklin & de Decker Associates in 1993. Conklin’s aviation career began in 1942 as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He has held positions with Atlantic Aviation, Aero Commander, Beechcraft, Cessna, Sabreliner and Dassault FalconJet. Conklin developed and refined a set of impartial operating cost numbers that help set the standard for business aviation.
Eagle Aviation has entered the Gulfstream Aircraft sales market. Andy Parrish, who worked at Gulfstream, SimuFlite and FlightSafety, is leading the expansion effort.
Steve Posey joined Guardian Air Service and Guardian Jet Center as controller. He
is handling the financial management of both companies.
