On May 20, Peter Edwards, formerly president of Bombardier’s Business Aircraft Division, took over as group CEO at Jet Aviation, succeeding interim CEO Carl Hirschmann. Edwards is now responsible for all of Jet Aviation’s global activities. His aviation experience spans 28 years and also includes senior positions at AiResearch and Gulfstream. Edwards has served on the boards of both GAMA and NBAA.
Jet Aviation chairman Dr. Urs Schenker announced the appointment here yesterday, along with another top-level promotion that he said completes the Zurich-based company’s executive group management team. Effective June 1, Jim Ziegler, former vice president and general manager of Bombardier’s Business Aviation Services, will become COO of Jet Aviation’s North American operations. He has spent 23 years with Learjet and Bombardier in various management roles, including finance and strategic planning.
Said Schenker of the appointments, “Jet Aviation now enjoys one of the strongest and most experienced management teams in the industry.”
