Schweizer will deliver its milestone 6,000th aircraft to Helicopter Adventures here at Heli-Expo today. The Model 300CBi is on display in the Schweizer static exhibit (No. 36). More than 1,000 of the 6,000 aircraft built at the company’s factory on the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport have been helicopters. The balance includes sailplanes, agricultural airplanes, special-purpose fixed-wing and unmanned vehicles. Schweizer manufactures three proprietary commercial helicopters: the piston-powered Model 300C and 300CBi and the turbine-powered Model 333. In addition to its proprietary products, Schweizer has been an airframe subcontractor to the aerospace industry for more than 60 years.
