Former HAI president Roy Resavage died last month after a long illness. He was 62. Resavage spent seven years at the helm of HAI, where he led the association through difficult financial times. He is credited with improving operational efficiency and the financial health of the association, as well as increasing attendance at Heli-Expo. Before his time with HAI, Resavage was a career Naval officer, where he served as executive officer of the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy and as commander of NAS Jacksonville.

โ€œI inherited a financially strong, professionally staffed international organization, which was a direct result of Royโ€™s efforts and commitment,โ€ said current HAI president Matt Zuccaro. โ€œThe international helicopter community and I have lost a good friend.โ€
