Cabin entertainment equipment from Flight Display Systems (Booth No. 906) is now available as a factory option on the new Agusta A109S Grand. The system was developed in partnership with Northern Avionics of Milan, Italy, and, according to Flight Display president David Gray, a backlog of orders is already building at the company’s Alpharetta, Ga. facility.
The optional IFE system for the Grand includes a 10.4-inch LCD monitor, a helicopter-
specific street-level moving-map computer processing unit and a DVD/CD/MP3 player, all manufactured by Flight Display Systems. The monitor and controls are installed in a panel revealed by lowering the center seat back in the aft-facing seat row.
Northern Avionics is a Flight Displays Systems dealer, based at Linate Airport in Milan. The actual installation in performed by Italian interiors specialist S.E.I., which is the exclusive cabin completion center for AgustaWestland.
According to a Flight Display Systems spokesman, the total cost of the individual system components, uninstalled, starts at around $12,500.
