James Lara is the new president and COO of Tempe, Ariz.-based MedAire. Joan Sullivan Garrett, the firm’s founder, CEO and chairman, will concentrate on driving the company’s visionary leadership, high-level promotion and strategic growth. Lara served on MedAire’s board of directors from 1996 until early last year. Kjell Andreassen, executive v-p and COO, will be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.
Stephen Lassetter is the new president and COO of Camarillo, Calif.-based Sun Air Jets. He was most recently president of Guardian Air Services, an FBO and aircraft charter service.
Montreal-based CAE announced the appointment of Marc Parent to group president of simulation products. Parent was previously v-p and general manager of Bombardier Aerospace.
Charlie Johnson, former president and COO of Cessna, joined Aviation Technology Group of Englewood, Colo., as executive v-p of operations. Johnson’s responsibilities will include overseeing engineering, manufacturing, supply-chain management and flight operations.
PrivatAir named Ian Patterson v-p of aircraft sales, acquisition and management. He was most recently sales director of Adam Aircraft in the mid-Atlantic region.
Zora Ljoljic joined San Juan Capristrano, Calif.-based Endevco as v-p and general manager. She was previously v-p and general manager for Melles Griot, a photonics components supplier.
Martin Dyer has been named director of flight operations for Million Air Dallas. Dyer has an extensive flying background with more than 6,500 hours TT and 5,500 as pilot-in-command. Dyer spent the last seven years as chief pilot and FAR Part 135 check airman for a local aviation company.
Jet Aviation Dallas named Jim McDonough southwest regional maintenance sales manager and Allen Walton Midwest regional maintenance sales manager. Also at Jet Aviation, David Deitch was named v-p of aircraft management and flight support services.
Bill Wallace joined Textron’s Washington, D.C. office as director of government affairs for homeland security. Wallace joined Textron from the FAA, where he was national resource specialist for rotorcraft operations and senior technical advisor on rotorcraft and tiltrotor operations.
Greenville, S.C.-based Stevens Aviation named Mark Niehaus general manager of the company’s Denver service center. He was most recently director of service sales support and engine programs for Bombardier Business Aviation Services.
Soren Stark is the new managing director at Lufthansa Technik Logistik. He replaces Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht.
Paschal Bachmann was named sales director of the European sales team of ExecuJet Aviation Group. He joined the company from NetJets Europe.
STG Aerospace named Jeff Kunz head of sales. He is responsible for managing key
accounts as well as the global network of STG Aerospace agents outside the Americas.
Innotech Aviation named Tim Magnus director of sales and marketing and technical services.
John Scicluna joined the sales staff of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Northern Jet Management. He was previously a vice president at Uniprop and vice president of marketing and director of sales for Pentastar Aviation. Also at Northern Jet Management, Jon David Agema was named pilot. He joined the company from the U.S. Air Force.
Luis Berrios, Kevin Alday, Adam Vidoni, Jeff Rash and Jim Musick joined Manassas, Va.-based Chantilly Air as crewmembers.
Waterford, Mich.-based Pentastar Aviation promoted Richard Barley to executive chef. Barley joined the company in 1996 as a sous chef. He was promoted to chef de cuisine in January 2003.
Scott Carr was named interim executive director of the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority. The appointment follows the resignation of Frederick Watts from the executive director position. Carr, who was the authority’s deputy executive
director, will serve as interim executive director until a replacement can be found.
Jim Taddeo and Robert Ward, former directors for Flight Options, are managing partners of start-up company V2 Technology. An aviation operations and IT consulting firm, V2 Technology provides aviation operations with customized or pre-developed software applications for the fractional and charter markets.
Duncan Aviation named Pete Hubbard to the Falcon sales team. Hubbard has served as a Falcon airframe team leader with Duncan Aviation since 1994.
International Air Charter appointed Rob Blaauw and Ketty Innamorato brokers. Blaauw, who joined the company from Continental Airlines, will focus on the executive and VIP aircraft market in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and France. Innamorato is concentrating on the Italian, Spanish and French executive jet markets.
Dr. Assad Kotaite, president of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, was elected president of the 35th session of the ICAO assembly.
