Bernhard Conrad, Lufthansa Technik senior vice president, demonstrates the wireless touchscreen remote control that is part of his company’s Nice (networked integrated cabin equipment system) to Kurt Sutterer, Midcoast Aviation president. Dave Crossett, Lufthansa Technik innovation engineeer (far left); Jim Ziegler, business consultant (second from left); and Mike Coate, Midcoast Aviation senior vice president, sales and marketing (second from right), look on.
Under a recently signed contract, Lufthansa Technik of Hamburg, Germany, authorized Jet Aviation-affiliate Midcoast Aviation of St. Louis, Missouri, as the only independent North American sales and service outlet for Nice. Midcoast will provide business aircraft operators with sales, installation and service support of the system.
The Ethernet-based Nice system integrates cabin management, communications and entertainment systems and operates in conjunction with a mobile access router for data and voice communications via satellite or ground-based stations. In addition to the wireless remote control shown above, these functions can be regulated by digital conrol units located within each passenger seat.
Said Sutterer, “Lufthansa Technik’s Nice system is one of the advanced and user-friendly cabin communication and entertainment systems that Midcoast selects for customer use.”
