Dallas Airmotive is at Heli-Expo’06 (Booth No. 1687) publicizing the expansion of its Lafayette, La. component repair and exchange capabilities to include support of Pratt & Whitney Canada PT-6A/T, JT15D and PW300/PW500 turbine engines.

Well known for Rolls-Royce Model 250 component repair, the Lafayette facility plans to add the P&WC models this year. In addition to direct customer support, the Louisiana site supports nine regional turbine centers in the U.S. and Europe. It is also becoming integral to overhaul shop support for the company’s main overhaul facilities in Dallas; Neosho, Mo.; and Portsmouth, England.

In addition to Lafayette’s existing special capabilities such as plasma spray, welding, nondestructive testing and machining, the expansion will provide vacuum brazing, heat treat and machining/grinding equipment. Lafayette’s mainstream capabilities include combustion liners, hot-section transition ducts, vane and stationary airfoil assemblies, supports and casings.

Dallas Airmotive continues as a Rolls-Royce Model 250 authorized maintenance center and a P&WC-designated PT6T overhaul facility. Model 250 overhaul is performed in Neosho by the company’s Premier Turbines division and in Portsmouth, England, by affiliate H+S Aviation. Dallas is the site for PT6T major repair and overhaul, plus component overhaul and exchange. Engine module repairs and overhaul also take place at Dallas Airmotive’s Phoenix and Dayton, Ohio, regional turbine centers.
