Sterling Helicopter (Booth No. 2635) has broken ground on a new maintenance facility in Croydon, Pa., the company announced. The 25,000-sq-ft hangar and maintenance site will serve helicopters ranging in size from the Bell 206 to the Agusta A139. Expandable to an additional 15,000 sq ft, the facility will include an inventory department for parts delivery, Sterling said.

Flight approach and departure paths to and from the Sterling shop will be optimized for safety and the “fly neighborly” concept, the company said. The new site will complement Sterling’s FBO at Pier 36, Penn’s Landing Heliport (P72) in Philadelphia, which will add customer helicopter hangars for long- and short-term rental. Refueling, parking, catering, conference rooms and security are features of this heliport, located minutes from downtown.

Sterling Helicopter is celebrating its 22nd year as an Agusta, Bell, Eurocopter and Schweizer service center.
