The National Aviation Hall of Fame named the American Society of Aviation Artists as the recipient of its 2006 Milton Caniff Spirit of Flight Award. The award recognizes groups or organizations that have made contributions to the aviation industry.

Karrie Shank, a senior at Ohio University, received the Dr. Harold S. Wood scholarship from GAMA. The annual award recognizes a student enrolled in a National Intercollegiate Flying Association school who demonstrates academic excellence, promotes aviation and is an active participant in community service projects.
